Thane police today registered a case of cheating against an event organiser after a city-based TV actor lodged a complaint against him for allegedly not paying her dues for an event.
Shikha Singh, who has acted in TV serials, alleged that Deepak Chaturvedi, an event organiser, was yet to pay her Rs 11.30 lakh for a show he had organised in Ghana in West Africa in November, said a police official.
He had promised to pay her Rs 12 lakh, of which Rs 70,000 were paid in advance, but the rest of the amount was never paid, the complaint said.
Chitalsar police here registered a case under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and investigation was underway, the official added.
