However, there were some who had put on a costume merely to showcase their passion for their beloved characters.
Recreating Ted Mosby's iconic search for his "slutty pumpkin" from "How I Met Your Mother," 19-year-old Harsh was wearing Ted's customary checked shirt and trousers and sported a ballot cut-out hanging around his neck.
"May be I too will get my slutty pumpkin here today," he quipped.
Accompanying him were the docile and delicate Sansa Stark from fantasy fiction "Game of Thrones" and volatile and ill-tempered Daryl Dixon from the horror drama "Walking Dead."
While 17-year-old Rupali, looked quite the elder princess of Winterfell with her southern-style double French braid, her classmate Aditi, although sporting a gun was nothing like the fearless zombie hunter with a bright smile across her face.
When asked why she chose to dress as Sansa as opposed to the stronger character of Arya Stark, Rupali who is a fashion enthusiast and an aspiring designer said, "I think I look a lot like Sansa and nothing like Arya. Also, I like Sansa's hairstyle and have been trying a lot of her hairdos at home."
The major attraction at the event continued to be Kristain Nairn who plays the character of a giant stable boy 'Hodor' in Game of Thrones, besides being a disc jockey professionally. Fans were lining up like bees to get up close with 'Hodor' and take pictures with him.
17-year-old Agni who studies International Relations from
GLA University in Mathura admires Kristain not only for his portrayal of Hodor, but is also a big follower of his DJ feats.
"Actually as unbelievable as it seems, Hodor is one of my favourite characters. He is this giant who carries Bran around and sometimes he is the monster when Bran controls him and he just says 'Hodor! Hodor!' He is a cool character and he was there in Game of Thrones and I got to meet him. It is just so cool."
"I am also a big fan of his DJ gigs. I like his drums. He has got pretty groovy beats," he said.
Besides Nairn's routine interaction with fans, Canadian comic book artiste Ty Templeton offered comic enthusiasts a sneak peek his body of work from Batman to Bun Toons.
"I love the enthusiasm and the crowd here. I honestly did not expect how happy and fun this was going to be. Physically, it may not be as big as the other comic cons but crowd wise this is huge," Templeton said.
Dinesh Shamdasani, one of the founders of Valiant Entertainment who has been interacting with the audience, is offering a tour into the world of Harbinger, X-O Manowar, Shadowman, Rai and many more.
"I was very excited when I got invited. I will say this is not what I was expecting. This is at par with anything I have been to. In fact, this is my favourite Comic Con. I love it because it has a great sense of energy to it and I love the fact that it is outdoors," he said.
A special session by Punjabi artiste Dalbir Singh of "Sikh Park" fame, a comic strip on the life of sikhs and punjabis in the diaspora, was also held.
Among the book releases were "Kalam, A Graphic Biography" that narrates the life and principles of the former Indian President in a comic format and "Ascension Protocol," a full-length follow up to the ground breaking "Dawn Of the Wolf."
As the day progressed more people sporting costumes of their favourite characters flooded the venue.
