A TV serial producer was today sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by a court here for raping a 31-year-old woman.
Mukesh Mishra (33) was found guilty under IPC sections 376 (rape) and 506(II) (criminal intimidation).
Additional sessions judge K S Hore today convicted him and awarded seven years' prison term, said additional public prosecutor Ashwini Rayakar.
The prosecution examined nine witnesses, she said.
The victim worked in the production unit of the Hindi serial "Veera" which was shot in a studio in suburban Powai.

According to the victim, on December 12, 2012, Mishra asked her to reach Jogeshwari station, where a bus was supposed to pick up artists.
When she reached the spot, Mishra was there. He told her that she should go with him on his motorbike, as the bus was late.
At the studio, there was no one except the sweeper, she said. After she went to her room, Mishra followed her and raped her, the victim said in her complaint.
He also threatened to kill her daughter and defame her if she disclosed the incident to anyone, the woman told police.
