TVS Motors-MCET enters strategic partnership

Pollachi-based Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) today entered into a strategic partnership with TVS Motor Company to involve in developing industry supported BE Programme and offer it to students.

TVS-MCET Collaborative Educational Program was aimed at bridging the gap between the quality of engineers expected by the industry and the graduating engineers, MCET Chairman M Manickam told reporters here today.

Stating that the objective of the program was to improve the ability to develop role ready engineers with professional values for the industry, Manickam said that this would meet the human resources development needs of TVS.

Dr V Kovaichelvan, senior vice-president (HR), TVS Motor Company said the company is absorbing some 50 engineers annually, and expected to take 20 engineers from MCET.
 

The program nurtured technical education by bringing industry practices into education system and improving the skills of instructors and students, he said, adding, TVS will provide industry internship program to the students as part of the course, with outcome-based curriculum and also offer special training to the faculty members to upgrade their knowledge and skill.

Manickam and Kovaichelvan signed the MOU in this regard.
