The two anti-militancy operations in north Kashmir entered the second day today but no fresh casualties have been reported so far, army said.

"There is no change since yesterday in the two operations in Uri and Rafiabad areas of north Kashmir Baramulla district. The operations are still in progress," an army official said.

An unidentified militant was killed while a soldier was injured in an encounter at Qazinag Dhar in Uri sector near the Line of Control yesterday even as security forces continued the operation against other ultras in the area.

Another encounter broke out between militants and security forces at village Vij in Rafiabad area last evening.

The gunbattle erupted when security forces cordoned off the village after getting information about some militants hiding there.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the village to further tighten the security cordon to stop militants from fleeing.
