Two arrested for allegedly possessing brown sugar in Odisha

Police suspect that the seized brown sugar, valued at about Rs 30,000, was mainly for customers as it was packed in 105 pouches.

The two, arrested by anti-narcotics cell of Jajpur police, were identified as Prasanta Mohanty alias Amar (30) of Chandma village and Rajendra Mohanty (35) of Kanheipur under Jajpur Road police station limits in Jajpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, a special police team nabbed the accused from a hotel near the railway station at Jajpur Road. Prasanta and Rajendra were held while trying to hand over the brown sugar to one peddler in Kanheipur area under Vyas Nagar municipality.
