With the arrest of two persons, including a teenager, police today claimed to have busted a gang which used to dupe people on the pretext of helping them with their ATM transactions.

Two members, including the 15-year-old boy who is the alleged kingpin of the gang, were arrested last night while withdrawing money from a person's ATM card on the pretext of helping him, SSP Anant Dev Tiwari said.

Two of the accused managed to escape, Tiwari said.

The gang had fraudently withdrawn Rs 6.67 lakh from ATMs in the district and with their arrest, 18 cases between December 25, 2014 to May 18, 2015 have been solved, Tiwari said.

Two motorcycles and Rs 50,000 cash have also been recovered, they said.
