Two members of a gang of eight were arrested today for allegedly attacking an excise team on May 21 during a raid on smuggled liquor godown here, police said.
Rajesh Tiwari and Guddu Pandit were arrested by the Tronica city police this morning, SHO Ummed Yadav said.
He said an FIR was lodged by excise inspector R P Singh in this regard and since then police teams had been raiding the hide-outs of liquor smugglers.

Upon a secret tip, the police team arrested the two assailants at Soniya Vihar Yamuna River embankment.
Two country-made pistols, four live cartridges and five kg Doda powder were also seized from their possession, police said.
The other six members of the gang will be arrested soon, they added.
