Two arrested for duping unemployed youths

Two persons were arrested today for allegedly duping a number of youths by promising them employment at government and private offices, the police said.

Acting on a complaint, Saunak Bhatterjee (28) and Sudip Das (29) were arrested for allegedly defrauding some unemployed youths of lakhs of rupees.

"An investigation revealed that the duo had entered into a criminal conspiracy and opened an office with the help of forged documents," the police said.

When one of the cheated youths approached the two at their office asking for refund, Sudip Das tried to pass himself off as an officer of of the Central Vigilance Commission and made an attempt to flee, but was caught by the police.
 

Both accused have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC.
