Shekhar Kumar (24) and Bambam Kumar (19) were apprehended from near Okhla yesterday on a tip off and five pistols, ten cartridges and five spare magazines were recovered from them, Ajay Chaudhry, Additional Commissioner of Police (South-East), said.
During interrogation, Chaudhry claimed, it came to light that Shekhar purchased the pistols and cartridges from one Rajkumar in Bihar's Munger to supply it in Delhi through Bam Bam Kumar.
"Bambam Kumar had developed contacts with criminals and ordered the pistols for customers. The accused, however, came in contact of a police informer and thus information reached police," Chaudhry said.
Shekhar, who hails from Munger, is a driver with a contractor. He is unmarried and has a dispute in family with his step brothers over property.
Bambam Kumar, hailing from Haryana's Ballabgarh, is working as an electrician in a multinational company in Faridabad. He got married recently and is the only son of his parents.
