Two men were arrested and nine stolen two-wheelers were seized from them during a vehicle search drive at Sakchi in Jamshedpur, the police said today.
The arrest was made when the police stopped two youths travelling on a motorcycle in a suspicious manner during the vehicle search drive and nine stolen motorcycles were recovered from them after interrogation, Superintendent of Police (city), Karthik S said.
Addressing a press conference here, Karthik said Sharif Ansari and Babu Ansari, both resident of Manbazar area in Purulia district of West Bengal, used to lift motorcycles and supply them to their relatives against payment of money.
The stolen bikes were recovered following a raid conducted on the leads provided by them, he said.
