Two persons who were allegedly involved in robbing valuables worth around Rs one crore including Rs 25 lakh cash from a share broker's house here last month have been arrested, the police said today.

Sanjay Rai and Rajesh Rai, both permanent residents of Madhubani district in Bihar, were arrested yesterday from Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad and Rs 2.5 lakh cash and jewelery articles were recovered from them, they said.

On November 26, around five-six persons had entered into the house at Jasola Vihar here when the complainant, along with her 80-year-old mother-in-law and a maid, was present in the house at that time.

The police said the assailants robbed jewelery articles and a bag containing around Rs 25 lakh cash and fled from the spot. The total value of the stolen goods were around Rs one crore, including cash, police said.

Mandeep S Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) said, during investigation, it was found that a servant, Vikas, was recently employed in the house and he was missing since the day of incident.

He said during further probe, the identity of Vikas was revealed as Sanjay, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar.

"A team was immediately sent at his permanent address but he was not found there. The teams conducted raids in different areas of Delhi/NCR and Bihar," he said.

The police said the accused were arrested on the basis of a tip-off that Sanjay would come to Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad to meet his associates.
