Two arrested for robbing municipal toll booth

Two persons who allegedly robbed cash from the municipal toll booth at Delhi-Haryana border in Palam Vihar have been arrested, police said today.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Singh (28), who himself is a staff at the MCD toll booth in Rajokari, and Dinesh Kumar (31).

The accused had allegedly threatened the toll booth officials with a gun on Monday night and robbed around Rs 1,20,000 cash, of which Rs 52,500 have been recovered by the police, said DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev.

On being chased by four toll officials, the accused abandoned their motorbike and fled the spot. The registration numebr of the bike helped police track them down, said police.
 

One toll official was also injured in the incident, who was rushed to a hospital by a police team. Both the accused were arrested from their residents yesterday, police added.
