Two persons were arrested here today for allegedly sending obscene messages and photos to a minor girl on a social networking site, police said.
The accused have been identified as Ankit Chetri and Raman Rawat. They were arrested by the cyber crime wing of state police, STF SSP Sadanand Date said.
Their arrest follows a complaint by a man at Patel Nagar police station alleging that his minor daughter was receiving obscene messages and pictures on her Facebook account from unknown persons.
The duo has confessed to their crime, Date said.
The accused said they did it for fun never realising that it might land them in trouble, the SSP (STF) said.
