Two arrested for snatching mobile phones in Delhi

Police today nabbed two accused hours after they allegedly snatched mobile phones from two people in the Amar Colony area of southeast Delhi, a top official said.

Shubham (19), son of a Commodore posted in Vizag, and his sister got down from a cab near Sapna Park in East of Kailash here at around 1.30am and were walking through the park to their residence when they were stopped by two men. The duo allegedly snatched their mobile phones and fled from the scene, DCP (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said.

The complainant spotted a police vehicle and alerted them. The policemen drove in the direction indicated by him and caught Mohan (35) from the Amar Colony area with the help of a local police team, he added.
 

The mobile phone robbed by him was recovered and a case was registered at Amar Colony police station, the DCP said.

Another accused, Sumit (19), was arrested from his house in Garhi village. The other mobile phone was recovered from him, the officer added.
