Two arrested for stabbing a man

In a swift action cops chased and caught two persons trying to run away after stabbing a man in Nabi Karim area of Central Delhi, police said today.

Shahbuddin (22), Sehzad (22), along with their accomplice Zuhi stabbed one Saddam near Pul Paharganj in Nabi Karim area last night. They were caught by two patrolling constables, while trying to flee after stabbing Saddam who later succumbed in a hospital, said Parmaditya, DCP of Central Delhi.

Saddam screamed when he was attacked by the trio with blades and alerted by his scream, two constables on duty rushed to the spot and saw them running away. They chased and caught Shahbuddin and Sehzad while Zuhi managed to escape, he said.
 

Saddam was rushed to LHMC Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctor. A case of murder has been registered at Nabi Karim police station, he said.

During interrogation, Sehzad revealed that he was working in a bag factory at Amar Puri in Nabi Karim area where Saddam also worked. Immediately after joining, Saddam had taken an advance of Rs 35,0000 from the factory owner Izrail and went back to his village in Sitamarhi.

Saddam returned after one year and resumed work at the factory but again went back to his native place just after three days and returned recently, Sehzad told the police.

Sehzad alleged the factory owner Izrail lured him to kill Saddam and promised to pay him Rs 50,000 for this. Sehzad roped in his friends Shahabuddin and Zuhi in his plan, said the officer.

The trio accompanied Saddam on some pretext and finding a chance near Pul Paharganj attacked him with blades. Zuhi caught neck of Saddam while Sehzad and Shahabuddin attacked him with blades. Later, Zuhi slit his throat to confirm death, added the officer.
