Two persons have been arrested near Keelakarai for allegedly trying to smuggle 'charas' worth Rs.Five lakh from here to Sri Lanka.
The contraband was seized after the state's 'Q' branch police stopped the two persons riding a motorcycle with a 'suspicious' luggage, Kennady, 'Q' branch inspector said.
Interrogation revealed that they planned to smuggle the narcotic to Sri Lanka, he said, adding, they were remanded to custody today.
