With the arrest of two persons, police here today claimed to have solved the kidnapping case of a seven-year-old girl.

The accused have been identified as Deepak Kumar alias Deepa and Ajay Verma, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Gursharan Sigh Sandhu said.

The police seized two cars, two motorcycles and one .32 bore pistol along with cartridges which were used during the kidnapping, the DIG said.

Sanvi Gupta, daughter of a businessman, was going to school in a rickshaw when she was kidnapped on May 4. She was rescued the same day from Samana near Patiala, he said.

Sandhu said the kidnappers had made calls to her parents for ransom, which, however, was not paid to them.
