Two persons were arrested and 10.5 gm heroin was recovered from their possession in the outskirts of the city here, police said today.
During a routine checking at Kunjwani check point last night, a car was signalled to stop but the driver sped away. Police then informed the next check post at Gangyal where the it was intercepted, SHO of Gangyal, Aijaz Ahmed said.
While searching, 10.5 gm of heroin was recovered form Rumim Ahmed and Altaf Hussain who were travelling in the car following which they were arrested, he said.

During preliminary investigation it was found that Ahmed and Hussain had brought the consignment from Damtaal area of Himachal Pradesh and were planning to sell it to the youths in Bhatindi, Sunjwan and Sainik Colony area of the city, Ahmed said.
They were selling heroin at Rs 12,000 to 15,000 per gram for the past some time in these areas, he said.
A case has been registered against them, the SHO said, adding police expects more recoveries and arrests in the case.
