An inter-state drug trafficking network was busted here today with the arrest of two persons and recovery of charas worth Rs one lakh from them, police said.

The two, identified as Bablu and Jivan Singh, were arrested when they were going to deliver the contraband to a supplier in the city, police said, adding, they had smuggled it from Himachal Pradesh.

The banned substance seized from the duo weighs 2 kg and is worth approximately Rs one lakh, they said.

However, one of their accomplices Rashid Ahmad alias Taufiq managed to escape, they said.

Taufiq, in the past, had been accused of drug trafficking and was arrested in April last year in this connection. His name was also mentioned by one Inam, arrested in October this year from Haridwar with 2.5 kgs of charas, who confessed he was doing it for Taufiq, police added.
