Asansol-Durgapur police commissioner Bhaskar Mukhopadhyay said today that the two were arrested from near Ajoy River following a tip-off last night.

The two men were on a bike and while one of them fled, the other was caught with the detonators. The man, who escaped, was later found hiding in the village and arrested.

Mukhopadhyay said the two allegedly confessed that the detonators were being smuggled from coal mines of Asansol to the stone quarries of Birbhum, about 45 km away.

The two also named the mastermind, he added.
