Two arrested with charas

A Turkish and a Nepalese national were arrested with charas in two separate incidents from Sonauli area on Indo-Nepal border here, a senior official said.

In the first incident, 43-year-old Cenani Soylu from Turkey, who was on his way to Delhi from Nepal, was arrested last night during a routine checking and 10.214 kg of charas was recovered from him, SSB commandant K S Bankhoti said .

The recovered contraband is worth Rs 1,02,14,000, the commandant said, adding, he has been handed over to customs authorities.

In another incident, Bhim Lal Tamang from Nepal was arrested yesterday with charas worth Rs 20.80 lakhs from Sonauli area on Indo-Nepal border, Assistant Commissioner, Customs Commandant, Bijendra Chaudhary said.
 

He has been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Chaudhary added.
