Two persons have been arrested with large quantity of poppy straw recovered from their possession in the Ramban and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
Truck driver, Rajvinder Singh, a resident of Punjab, was arrested from Batote area of Ramban district with 1.25 quintals of poppy straw recovered from his possession yesterday, a police officer said.
He said that seven bags containing the poppy straw were found concealed in the truck.

In another incident, a person with 2.8 kilogram of poppy straw was arrested in Katra of Reasi district yesterday, the police officer said.
The accused, Gulam Qadir, is a resident of Dhansal area in Jammu district.
The duo has been book under various sections of the NDPS Act and further investigations have begun, police said.
