Two arrestsed for thefts at Hyderabad temples

Two persons, wanted in connection with at least 22 cases of theft in temples in various parts of the city, were today arrested, police said.

Based on a tip-off Emani Ram Babu, a resident of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, and Eknath Mane, a resident of Sangli district in Maharashtra, were arrested from Sultan Bazar area here, they said.

According to police, the duo used to visit temples during the early hours and used to decamp with the gold and silver items offered at the temple, said DCP (West Zone) Venkateshwar Rao.

Police have recovered a part of the stolen property from the accused. Further probe is on.
