Two beaten to death while trying to escape after loot in UP

Two persons were beaten to death by a group of villagers near Neemgaon here tonight when they were trying to escape after allegedly committing a loot, police said.

"After carrying out the loot at Chinta Ka Bans village in Aligarh district, the three accused attempted to escape to adjoining Mathura district on motorcycles," Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Singh Yadav said.

On being chased by the villagers they opened fire. Following this, the villagers informed the locals Neemgaon village who blocked the road by placing wooden boulders, he said.

"Finding the road blocked, the three accused got down from their motorcycles near Neemgaon, when two of them, aged around 20 to 22 years, were caught by the villagers and beaten to death," Yadav said, adding the third accused managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
 

Police is trying to identify the deceased and hunt is on to nab the other accused, he said.
