A speeding truck ran over a motorcycle killing its rider and the pillion rider Dhannu Kumar (20) and Laddu Kumar (21) under its wheels before knocking down and injuring a cyclist Chhotu Kumar, Dehri police station's Station House Officer (SHO) T.P. Mishra said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured admitted to a hospital for treatment, he said.
The truck driver escaped after abandoning the vehicle, Mishra said.
Local people blocked the highway to protest the road rage, the SHO said, adding the protesters removed the blockade after persuasion by the officials.
