Two amendment Bills related to land acquisition and land reforms were today tabled in the Rajasthan House amid resentment by a senior BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari and Congress' MLA Pradhyuman Singh.
As the Parliamentary Minister R S Rathore announced to table the Rajasthan Land Acquisition and Rajasthan Land Reforms Amendment Bill 2014 (both amendments), Tiwari asked the Speaker whether the said Bills belonged to the Centre or the state's own amendment Bills.
In his objection, Tiwari said, it was the Centre's Bill then state could not insert its amendments unless the state brings another fresh amendment Bill. He further alleged that the state has no authority to supersede the Centre's legislation.
Despite Tiwari was supported by Congress MLA Singh on the very issue, the Speaker Kailash Meghwal overruled it allowing the Bills to be tabled.
