Two BJP MLAs from Manipur were
arrested today for spearheading a movement to stop a police recruitment drive.
Khumukcham Joykishan and Th Bishwajit were arrested by Imphal East police at Manipur Police Training Centre in Pangei, police said.
The recruitment drive is for Manipur police constables, they said.
The MLAs were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal East this afternoon and were remanded to 14 days judicial custody as they refused to sign the PR bond.
They would be produced before the court again on September 13.
