Two bodies, believed to be of a truck driver and his helper, were found at Cooch Behar Tea Estate along NH-31 under Ghoksadanga police station in Cooch Behar district today, police said.

Local people discovered the bodies, with their throat slit, this morning and informed the police who found only one paper from the corpses.

Police said it is learnt from the paper that a truck registered in Rajasthan was coming from Assam via Boxirhat check-post of Cooch Behar carrying about 9 tonne of tea.

The truck, which was supposed to go to Ahmedabad, is untraced.

During investigation with a sniffer dog, the police recovered two blood-stained choppers and a cap.

It is suspected that the culprits took the two in a road side eatery, made them drink heavily and killed them later, police said.

The two victims were aged around 35 years and 28 years. The bodies were sent for postmortem.
