Two bogies of express train derail in Odisha; no casualty

Two bogies of Santragachhi-Tirupati Express train derailed near Baudpur railway station in Bhadrak district of Odisha tonight, railway officials said.

The rear side parcel van and a general coach of the 22855 Santragachhi-Tirupati Express derailed but no casualty or injuries to anyone was reported, an official of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said.

Immediate steps have been taken to restore the coaches on the tracks and ensure resumption of train movement as early as possible, he said, adding relief and repair train was sent from Bhadrak.

An inquiry by officers concerned would be undertaken to establish the reasons behind the accident, he said.
