Two booked under PSA in J-K

Two persons were detained on Tuesday under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Ramban and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Mohammad Ashraf from Chanderkote was taken into custody in Ramban district and lodged in Jammu's Kot Balwal jail under the PSA, a police spokesperson said.

Ashraf has four cases registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at different police stations, he said.

A dossier for his detention was prepared by the police and submitted to the competent authority who issued an order for his detention under the PSA, the spokesperson said.

In Samba, an alleged cattle smuggler, Mohammad Hussain, was detained under the PSA and lodged in Hiranagar sub-jail, he said.

 

The accused hails from Manohar Gopala village of Samba and has been booked in several cases of cattle smuggling in the district, the spokesperson said.
