Two BSF personnel suspended

Two BSF personnel were suspended in connection with a case of alleged molestation of a tribal girl in West Tripura district, police said today.

BSF jawan Pabitra Kumar Sahu tried to molest a tribal girl, but had to flee when the victim raised an alarm and villagers rushed to the spot at Old Gangadharchowdhuripara yesterday, IGP (police control) Nepal Das said.

The villagers then gheraoed the Border Outpost (BOP), he said.

To pacify the villagers, District Magistrate and senior BSF officials rushed to the spot and assured that such an incident would not happen again and the guilty would be punished.
 

Later, Sahu and Camp Commander R D Misra were suspended from their job, BSF, DIG, B S Rawat said.

Sahu is absconding now, Das said.
