Twenty seven thatched houses were reduced to ashes and two persons trapped inside were burnt alive, police said.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
The administration would provide financial assistance to the families of the fire victims to help them rebuild their houses, said Pradipta Kishore Pattnaik, Collector, Kendrapara.
