Vinod Kumar Thakur, helper with an engineering firm, had gone to the river to wash clothes at around 1 PM today as he slipped into the river and was swept away.
The deceased was residing at Kumrek.
In another incident, a nine-year old was drowned at Gyalshing.
The child was found lying dead on the side of Karthok Lake at around 5 PM and the body forwarded for autopsy.
