The mishap took place as the three children accidentally stepped on the railway track while grazing the cattle and were run over by a speeding goods train under Chapra-Sonepur rail section of the East-Central Railway (ECR).
While two children, identified as Keshu Kumar (10) and Sunita Kumari (12) died on the spot, another girl Sangita Kumari (11) sustained injuries, they said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured girl admitted to a hospital, sources said.
