Two college girls commit suicide due to financial problems

Two college girls committed suicide allegedly due to financial problems even as three more cases of suicide were reported in the last 24 hours in the city.

18-year-old Priya Yadav, a second year college student, hanged herself at her residence in Rail Bazaar area yesterday due to financial problems after her parents' death.

"Priya stayed with her brother. She had been in depression due to her parents' death and the financial problems at home," police said.

In a similar incident, Kajol Verma (17), a first year college student, committed suicide at her home at Kalyanpur here yesterday, police said.

The victim used to give tuitions but was unable to meet her expenses, they added.
 

Meanwhile, three more cases of suicide were reported in city in the last 24 hours.

Azad, a 30-year-old taxi driver from Kalyanpur, committed suicide as he did not have money to buy liquor, while in another case Jagdish Prajapati (44) hanged himself as his son was suffering from a liver disease which could not be cured despite several treatments.

In another incident, 30-year-old Sharad, resident of Govindnagar, committed suicide as he been depressed due to his unemployment.
