Three persons, including two police officials, were arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 6,000 as extortion money from hawkers in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar area, ACB said today.
The accused demanded Rs 2,000 as 'hafta collection' from each of the hawkers to allow them to put up their business in Kharghar, Anti Corruption Bureau's DSP Sandip Karnik said.
They also allegedly demanded Rs 8,000 from a hawker, who had four different businesses, the ACB said.

A sandwich seller, Sandeep Mahale, was also arrested along with them in this connection.
An offence under the various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the three accused, the ACB said.
