Two cops hurt in J&K as militants open fire during Eid-e-Milad

Militants today fired at a police team during a procession in connection with Eid-e-Milad festival in Anantnag, about 50 kms from here, injuring an officer and a constable.

The incident took place in Gooriwan where the police team was on routine law and order duty for the procession marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, police said.

Sub Divisional Police Officer of Bijebehara Irshad Ahmad and a constable were injured in the firing, they said, adding both were shifted to a hospital here.
