Two policemen were injured and a couple of vehicles damaged during a clash between supporters of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and opposition CPI(M) in West Bengal's 24 Parganas (North) district today.
According to police, the clash which came ahead of the third phase of the panchayat polls scheduled for tomorrow, occurred at Borgachia under Amdanga police station.
During the clash, a bomb was hurled in front of the vehicle of visiting election commission observer for Amdanga, UK Sengupta. The bomb damaged the vehicle but Sengupta escaped unhurt.

Ali, along with a police constable, was hurt in the stone pelting while a police vehicle was damaged by the rival mobs.
Senior police officials who rushed to the spot to control the situation arrested six persons for their involvement in the clash.
