A daring rescue of a three-year- old child by two police personnel from kidnappers, who had murdered his mother in her Mayur Vihar home, was the climax of a laborious operation involving 20 joint teams of Delhi and Uttarakhand police.
29-year-old Mohi was strangulated and her three-year-old son Ishu was abducted by two persons in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase III area on August 24. The child was rescued on August 26 evening and two of his abductors nabbed after days of meticulous and careful investigation.
According to the police, the two alleged abductors of the child, Digvijay alias Vijay (23) and Sachin alias Monu (20) were arrested on Monday evening after a confrontation with the cops and a chase on the banks of river Ganga in Haridwar.

Delhi police Sub Inspector Arun and Constable Vivek of SOG, Haridwar were injured in the incident as the kidnappers attacked them with surgical knives while the two cops succeeded in snatching the child and nabbing the accused.
Police not only successfully rescued the boy Ishu, but also recovered ten mobile phones, jewellery which was looted in the incident and the weapon of offence which included sharped-edged weapon (surgical knives), injection syringe and chloroform.
Mohi was strangulated and her on was abducted by the two persons in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase III area on August 24. They had also robbed jewelry and other stuff from the house before fleeing.
"Beena, the maid present at the house revealed that at about 10.30 AM, two youths entered the house, overpowered Mohi and made her subconscious with chloroform.
"They threatened Beena with a knife and killed Mohi by smothering. In order to be sure, they also injected some liquid in her body with an injection and stuffed her inside the bed," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ajay Kumar.
Beena informed Inamullah, husband of the deceased, who was at his garment shop in Kondli about the incident, who soon received a call from his wife's mobile phone demanding Rs 50 lakh as ransom for the safe release of Ishu, police said.
"Through technical surveillance, it was learnt that the abductors were in Western Uttar Pradesh. During investigation of the spot, it was learnt that Digvijay, an ex-employee of Inamullah along with his associates was involved in the crime.
"On Monday, the kidnappers along with the child were in Rishikesh after which they left for Haridwar in the morning," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Mandeep Singh Randhawa.
