Two policemen were injured today when a mob attacked a police patrol and set ablaze one of their vehicles on Kalyani Highway in Jagaddal area of North 24 Parganas district.
The police patrol was intercepting passing vehicles for random check when an altercation began between those assembled and the cops, police sources said.
The mob attacked the officials and torched a stationed vehicle while breaking the wind shield of another, they added.
The injured personnel suffered gashes from brick-batting.
Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel had to be deployed in the area later on to bring the situation under control.
