Two cops suspended, 6 held in triple murder case in UP

Two policemen were suspended and six persons arrested in connection with the triple murder case at Mumthal village in Banither area here, police said today.

"Sub-Inspector of the area Prithvi Raj Singh and constable Pitambar Singh were suspended for laxity. Six persons named in the FIR filed by the son of one of the deceased were arrested last night," Superintendent of Police (SP), Atai Saxena said.

A licensed rifle and a country-made weapon were seized from the arrested persons, he said.

Three persons were shot dead and another injured when some men opened fire on them in Mumthal village over old enmity.
 

Nanhu (50), his brother Mohan (35) and son Sukhveer (30) were killed while they were having liquor in the village.
