Two criminals arrested

Two criminals were arrested from Telco area under Telco policy station, a senior police officer today said.

Addressing a press conference here, Senior Superintendent of Police, Amol V Homkar and Superintendent of Police (City), Karthik S said the arrested criminals were identified as Chandan Ghosh of Telco and Raja Bacha alias Raj Mahapatra of Seraikela-Kharswan district.

Ghosh had been charge-sheeted in five criminal cases, Homkar said adding that the duo were involved three criminal offences in a day on February 13 last, when they looted one Md. Irfan at gun point of his motorcycle, wallet, Adhar card, voter ID, Pan card, two mobile phone and Rs 1200 while he was on his way to Jemco alongwith a friend.
 

After committing the crime, they along with three accomplices took the motorcycle to Jemco area where they set on fire, Homkar said.

Besides, the criminals have also looted a mobile phone of a security guard, Anil Tiwary, who was on duty at a factory under Govindpur police station area and stolen a motorcycle from Manifit locality under Telco police station on the same day, Homkar said.

Police have been conducting raids to apprehend other three at large, Homkar added.
