Ashok Kumar (45) and Santosh Gupta (38), residents of Gajner in Kanpur Dehat district had gone to Akbarpur tehsil last evening, a police spokesman said.
The two were returning to Kanpur when the driver of a stationary loader suddenly opened its door which caught the riders unaware and they fell on the road, he said, adding that a speeding truck crushed them to death.
The drivers of both the truck and the loader are absconding. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on.
