The two-day 34th Tri-Services Commanders Conference (South) is being held at the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in nearby Kannur district from today.
Vice Admiral S V Bhokare, Commandant, INA received all the seven Commanders-in-Chief on their arrival at the Indian Naval Academy this morning and the conference began at 10.00 am, an officer at the INA said today.
The conference, hosted by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral A R Karve, is aimed at strengthening and promoting jointness and synergy among the three services, an INA release said.

Matters related to joint operations, interoperability and exchange of best practices between various Commands of Southern region will be discussed during the conference.
The conference is an annual feature amongst seven commands of the Army, Navy and the Air Force, including the Tri Services Andaman and Nicobar Command, which form the Southern Region.
Besides Vice Admiral Karve, the others taking part in the conference are Lt. Genl. P M Hariz, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral H C S Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command;
Air Marshal R K Dhir, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command, Air Marshal R K S Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Air Command and Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command, it said.
