The famous two-day camel festival will begin here on January 9, 2016 with a traditional procession for which preparations are on.
The ceremonial procession will be followed by formal inauguration of the fair which sees participation of large number of people including domestic and foreign tourists, Assistant Director of Tourism department, Ajay Sharma said.
Various activities including competitions that include camel decoration and hair cutting, camel dance would be organized, said.

While, Kho-Kho, tug of war and wrestling competitions would be organized for others, Sharma said, adding that many other competitions have also been planned for the event.
Preparations were being made for the two-day long fair, Additional District Collector S K Nawal said.
"Elaborate security and other arrangements will be in place for the fair," Nawal said.

Various 'palkis' of Sant Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram Maharaj,
Gajanan Maharaj, Muktabai and more than 350 'dindi' (small processions) from different parts of the state also thronged Pandharpur.
A couple, Hari Bhau Punde and Sunita Punde, from a village in Ahmednagar district got the honour of performing the 'mahapooja' with the chief minister.
State cooperation and marketing minister Subash Deshmukh and others were also present on the occasion.

In Nagpur, the civic body had installed 99 artificial
tanks, 32 small ponds, 14 centering lakes, two mobile tanks, and one cement tank for immersion of Ganpati idols and protect water bodies from pollution.
Almost three lakh idols of Lord Ganesha were immersed in various parts of the city.
City Mayor Pravin Datke accompanied by top civic officials took stock of the situation last evening at Futala Lake and Gandhi Sagar lake, the two major places of immersion along with other locations.
Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, NMC Standing Committee Chief Sudhir Raut and others were also present.
Elaborate security arrangements were made and police have installed watch towers and CCTV cameras to keep a vigil on immersions and also on the trouble makers, pick pockets and other anti-social elements to ensure peaceful immersion across the state and in other major towns of Vidarbha like Gondia, Amravati, Chandrapur, Akola and Yavatmal.
