A two-day regional conference on citizen centric service delivery system will be inaugurated tomorrow by Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal in Guwahati.
Delegates from eight states of north eastern region including Sikkim and four states of eastern region - West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand will participate in the conference.
The conference aims to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of citizen centric governance, improved public service delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration, a press release issued today by Personnel Ministry said.
The theme for this year's conference is 'Path Breaking and High Impact Initiatives in Citizen Centric Services Delivery System'.
As per the programme schedule, five sessions will be held during the conference, of which three sessions will be held tomorrow.
First session will be on 'Transformational e-Initiatives in Health and Education Sectors' which will comprise of presentation on e-Education and e-Health from governments of Odisha and Tripura respectively, it said.
Second session will be on e-office implementation which aims at supporting governance by achieving a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working in Government offices and web based grievance portal called as Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring system (CPGRAMS), the release said.
"This will be followed by a panel discussion on vision on digital transformation for citizen centric delivery," it said.
The second day of the conference, on September 16th, will have two sessions.
Some important presentations will be 'Organic State and Tourism Mission' by government of Sikkim; 'Integrated Basin Development Livelihood Programme' by government of Meghalaya and 'Cyber Security' by government of West Bengal. A panel discussion on tele-linking remote and inaccessible areas will be the concluding session of the conference, the release said.
The conference is being organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, government of India in collaboration with the government of Assam.
The Information Technology Minister of Assam Keshab Mahanta, will be present on the occasion along with senior officers from the line ministries of government of India and 12 state governments including C Viswanath, Secretary, DARPG, Government of India and Vinod Kumar Pipersenia, Chief Secretary of Assam.
