Two-day extravaganza to celebrate Indian cinema centenary

A two-day extravaganza 'Cinema 100 - The Next Wave' ushering in the golden future of Indian films after 100 glorious years, will be organised here by a film institute, starting tomorrow.

LA India Film Council has partnered with filmmaker Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International (WWI) to celebrate the cinema centenary in its Goregaon campus in Mumbai.

The highlight of the event will be a 19-minute screening of first ever motion picture 'Raja Harishchandra' along with an exhibition of some rare pictures from 100 years of Indian films.

Also, there will be multiple screening of a five-minute preview of Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra's 'Sholay' in 3D.
 

There will be workshop and panel discussions which would have Bollywood celebrities like Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Javed Akhtar, Anurag Basu, Shabana Azmi and Amol Gupte.

The workshops will focus on range of contemporary topics of film making such as top motion animation, green screen compositing technique, mobile film making, 3D animation, editing etc.
