Two-day workshop on heart surgery begins in Jaipur

Heart surgeons from across the country today assembled here to discuss technological advancements in the area of Cardiothoracic surgery at a workshop organised here by Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons.

Cardiothoracic surgery is surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs inside the chest.

"The focus of the two-day workshop was on pediatrics cardiac surgery and heart surgery of two children suffering from a rare heart disease which was performed at Narayana hospital here and streamed live in the workshop", organising secretary of the event Dr Alok Mathur said.

"Eminent faculties from Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and US discussed new advancements and new developments in the workshop attended by more than 100 surgeons from all over India", he said.
 

IACTS President Dr Suresh Rao, Dr R M Mathur of SMS hospital and other senior surgeons were present in the event.
