In what could be a scene from a blockbuster movie, albeit tragic, two men died of one gunshot when the bullet fired pierced through the body one of the victims and hit the other in Greater Noida, police said Wednesday.
Ratan Singh, an elderly man, was shot dead by his nephew, Rohit, and his two accomplices in Khurshaidpura village late on April 21.
The bullet Rohit fired punctured his uncle's chest and came out of his back to find its second target in Jai Prakash, one of Rohit's accomplices, said Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police in Gautam Buddh Nagar after a detailed probe over 10 days.
After the freak incident, Krishna said, locals had claimed that the killings were done by cattle lifters and it had panicked villagers.
Police identified the other accomplice of Rohit as Vishal. Both are in their 20s.
"Rohit was a nephew of Ratan Singh. He would often quarrel with his father and Ratan Singh's younger brother Indrapal Singh. Upset with his son, Indrapal had disowned Rohit, who considered it to be a doing of his uncle Ratan Singh," the officer told reporters.

He said Rohit was nurturing hatred for his uncle and wanted to kill his son, his cousin, but ended up killing Ratan Singh and his accomplice.
Rohit and Vishal were arrested on Wednesday.
"Both the accused have confessed to the killing," he said, adding the country-made gun used in the crime has also been recovered.
The duo has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder), 379 (theft), 307 (attempt to murder) and related offences, and sent to jail, the police said.
